Detox Plans

 

When embarking on a healthy eating plan, a thorough cleanse and detox (at least once a month) will help you to get into the spirit of your new plan and will get your body ready for the healthy and nutritious foods that will complement your new lifestyle! Any really good detox is designed to kick start a healthy eating plan and cleanse your system.

 

Below, you will find plans for a Three and Seven Day Cleanse and Detox.  Be sure to drink plenty of water while completing the Three Day Cleanse and Detox. It’s recommended to drink four 12-ounce glasses per day of either spring, filtered, or distilled water. Flavored or sweetened water is not recommended. It is recommended to juice twice daily.

 

This detox does not include added sweeteners, caffeine, dairy, wheat or gluten, or animal protein.

 

Three Day Detox Plan

 

Wake-up Drink Recipe – Drink daily and prepare fresh daily.

Choose One)
-8oz. of warm water with lemon

-8-12oz. of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar Drink (Choose One)

  • Mix 2-3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder into 8-12 oz. water or

  • Mix 2 tablespoons raw, organic apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon organic honey or maple syrup, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, and the freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon into 8 oz. distilled or filtered water. (For added benefits, drink 8-12 ounces 30 minutes before each meal.
     

Breakfast – Drink daily
Nut/Plant Based Protein Smoothie
Blend: 1 tbsp vanilla extract, 4 tbsp almond butter, 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk, 1 scoop plant-based protein powder

 

Mid-Morning Snack
Your Favorite Nuts (1/4 cup) and Vegetables (1 cup) – Cut up veggies the night before.

 

Lunch
Garden Salad with Lemon & Oil Dressing or Braggs Vinaigrette –or- Lunchtime Smoothie

Blend 1/2 avocado, 1 pear, 1 inch ginger, juice of 1 lime, and 1 cup coconut water

 

 

Mid-Afternoon Snack

Green Smoothie
handful of spinach, 1 cup water, 1 celery stalk, 1 cucumber, 1/2 lemon, 1/2 apple

 

Dinner – Eat daily and prepare once to last three days
Homemade or Organic Vegetable Soup

Homemade or Organic Lentil Soup

 

Before Bed – Drink daily and prepare fresh daily.
Chamomile Tea

Cleansing Tea (Lacy LeBeau Dieter's Tea or any Natural Detox Tea)

 

 

Seven Day Detox Plan

 

Breakfast 

Medium bowl of oatmeal or cream of rice sweetened with a little agave nectar, stevia, or honey. 8 oz. of distilled water with lemon – OR - Medium bowl of bran or high fiber cereal with unsweetened almond, coconut or soy milk, lightly sweetened with agave nectar, stevia, or honey. Also include 3 Brazil nuts or 5 whole Walnuts. 8 oz. of distilled water with lemon.

 

Mid-Morning Snack (Select One)

One pear, apple or one cup of melon. (Be sure to eat the skin on the apple and pear)

 

Lunch (Select One):

One cup of lentils, peas, kidney, sweet potato, pinto or lima beans, (No Meat) with two cups of broccoli, turnip greens, squash, green beans or carrots and 8 ounces of distilled water with lemon 

– OR – 

Large mixed Salad (wholesome vegetables only – no bottled, canned or processed items) with Braggs Vinaigrette and small multi grain roll – OR - Lunchtime Smoothie made with Blend 1/2 avocado, 1 pear, 1 inch ginger, juice of 1 lime, and 1 cup coconut water.

 

Afternoon Snack (Select One)

1⁄4 cup of Raw Almonds and Pre-Cut Vegetables or 1 cup of Berries

 

Dinner (Select One)

2 to 3 cups of boiled vegetables or greens – OR - large mixed salad w/vinaigrette dressing), either selection can be accompanied with 1/3 cup of brown rice or 1⁄2 Sweet Potato, and 8 oz. of distilled water with lemon.

 

Substitutions: Any veggie selections for lunch or dinner may be replaced with 1-2 cups of one of the following veggies: Bean sprouts, romaine lettuce, collard greens, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, corn, eggplant, green beans, kale, okra, pumpkin, spinach or squash.

 

*For persons experiencing slow bowel movement; add one teaspoon of extra virgin oil with breakfast and dinner or utilize a cleansing herbal supplement or cleansing tea at night. For additional cleansing benefits, participants may use a Herbal Cleansing Supplement such as Super Cleanse, Colon Cleanse, or The Cleaner.

 

*Coffee with unsweetened almond, coconut or soy milk, and lightly sweetened with agave nectar, stevia, or honey is allowed.

 

*Herbal and green teas are allowed.

 

*Drink at least 8-8 oz. servings of water per day.
